It's official! Chile now has a female president! *Dance party over here*!
Bolivia's Evo Morales and Condy Rice attended the inauguration, and from what I've heard the encounter was "civil." We wouldn't want to cause an incident now would we, after all, it's no secret Morales is anti-american.
From the little that I've seen, Doctor Michelle Bachelet is a fascinating woman. She was tortured under the regime of General Augusto Pinochet and lived in exile in the former East Germany. She's a single mother, agnostic, and a fluent English speaker. Oh, and Bachelet made half of her cabinet women :).
I think she is a wonderful and inspirational role model for little girls not only in Chile, but all over the world.
